Divisional Coins Set in Proof 2016

The Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico di San Marino proposes a divisional set with 2 commemorative coins in proof finishing. The first one is dedicated to Donatello, an Italian sculptor, drawers and goldsmith who died in Florence on the 13th December 1466. He is considered the father of Florentine Renaissance, together with Filippo Brunelleschi and Masaccio. His bronze “David” is considered one of the most important piece of works of all Renaissance and can be admired in the Museum Bargello in Florence. The second 2 Euro commemorative coin is dedicated to William Shakespeare, the most important writer and poet who used English language for his works; he is also one of the most outstanding playwright of the west culture. He shared both medieval and Renaissance culture and introduced a new modern theatrical language.
